The Ardilaun are working with RTÉ People in Need Telethon 2007 which makes a real difference to the lives of the people who are most in need of help and support in our local community. According to Hildegarde Naughton, Galway City & County Co-ordinator says” All money raised in Galway Stays in Galway and is redistributed to local charities throughout the City and County”.
The People in Need Trust was established in May 1988 with the purpose of raising and distributing money to charitable organisations throughout the country. The main source of funds is the highly successful RTÉ People in Need Telethon, supported by Eircom, which has raised €35 million to date. Grant applications are assessed by advisory committees in each region before final approval by the board of directors of the trust.
