Back to the Shop Floor for John Ryan on Daffodil Day at The Ardilaun

Date of issue: 3rd March 2008

The Ryan Family & The Ardilaun Hotel staff members are busy preparing for Daffodil Day which takes place on Friday 7th March. John Ryan, Director of the Ardilaun Hotel has taken part in a novel fundraising event called ‘Back to the Shop Floor’ for Daffodil Day.

Back to the Shop Floor for Daffodil Day is a fundraising idea which invites top CEOs and senior managers countrywide to spend some time performing a task that would not normally be part of their everyday routine. In an effort to raise sponsorship John Ryan has swapped places with staff members for Daffodil Day – working in the kitchen wash-up. Sponsorship cards are at reception in the Ardilaun or members of the public may contact the Hotel with pledges of donations.

The Ryan family are no strangers to charity fundraising and hard work and are only delighted with the opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause as well as joining in with their work colleagues. ‘It’s a team effort where staff and management get involved, have some fun in the course of the working day and encourage guests to contribute to the Daffodil Day fund,’ said John Ryan. ‘Its all in a day’s work!’. The Ardilaun staff have  decorated the Hotel reception area with posters, balloons and daffodils creating awareness of Daffodil Day as well as selling daffodil pins and keyrings on the day.
