Renvyle Makes the Bridgestone Guide
[Quotation below taken from the Guide written by John & Sally McKenna]
They are collecting so many trophies and prizes these days, Renvyle will need to build an extension.
We tend to think that award winners in the food and hospitality world are usually the latest young spikey-haired wunderkinds setting the capital’s dining tables aflame with molecular cooking or whatever.
If you were to tot up awards and prizes and commendations and gongs garnered over the last five year, the chances are that chef Tim O’Sullivan and manager Ronnie Counihan, the pair responsible for the zeitgeist of Renvyle, would come out comfortably ahead of any collection of spikey-topped young kitchen brigands. These guys haul in so much silverware and so many glass trophies they could open a jeweller’s shop.
But, let’s hope they don’t for the reason for all those prizes is hospitality and cooking that is as fine as anything in the West. Renvyle is magic – magically apart, magically unfussy, magically wonderful for families, magically wonderful for its stunning cooking, a magic chill-out zone – and it is currently on a mighty, unstoppable roll.
