Following the recent release of the new U2 album U218 Singles and the book U2 by U2, Brian Fahy, General Manager at The Montenotte Hotel, thought the cover photograph looked somewhat familiar. He contacted New York based photographer David Corio who confirmed that he and the band stayed at the hotel and did a photo-shoot on the roof back in February 1980. It also transpired that U2 played one of their earlier gigs at the hotel (then called the Country Club) on 4^th February 1980 as part of their U2-3 Irish/London Tour.
