Nestled on the coast in the charming West Cork cathedral town of Rosscarbery, local and community are two words that are central to the Celtic Ross ethos. The hotel is renowned for its dedication to delicious locally sourced food and warm West Cork hospitality. CRAFT West Cork, the hotel’s artisan food truck is the ultimate experience in al fresco dining on the Celtic Ross terrace, a feature of the hotel which only grew during the pandemic, keeping the spirit of the hotel and local employment alive.

When the hotel opened its doors in 1997 it was the first hotel to be built in West Cork in 30 years. Speaking on the 25th birthday, Helen Wycherley - who's father built the hotel and is still owned and run by the family - commented; "I have been part of the hotel since inception and have celebrated many of our own family occasions at the Hotel, the staff always have a smile and a kind word that make our personal experiences easy and welcoming. Rosscarbery is a stunning destination and I never tire of the view as I travel down the wide hill into Rosscarbery Bay. I am proud of the hotel and how it has changed and grown over the past 25 years."

Neil Grant, General Manager at Celtic Ross says the property is going from strength to strength; “Having been a part of the hotel for 8 years, this milestone is particularly special. After 2 challenging years, to emerge from Covid and celebrate 25 years in business is so exciting. The hotel has evolved and changed in my time and our team has always been the most important cornerstone of the hotel and supporting local continues to be our overarching theme in our ethos. We wish to thank all of our guests & team mates past and present for their immense contribution to our success over 25 years and we know there is more to come.”

Adding to the hotel's deep roots and family history, there is well documented Irish history as Michael Collins was born in the parish of Rosscarbery at Sam’s Cross and his parents are buried in the graveyard behind Celtic Ross Hotel. All three Irish patriots – Collins, Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa and Tommy Barry - have strong connections to Rosscarbery. Rosscarbery marked the decade of centenary commemorations by erecting a monument to Fenian Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa and War of Independence heroes Michael Collins and Tom Barry in 2015.
